The City of Hardwar
is situated on the right
bank of the holy River Ganga,
at a longitude of 29.58
degrees and latitude of
78.10 degrees. District
Hardwar is spread over
196000 hectares, and is
situated 70 kms from
Dehradun, the interim
capital of the newly
constituted State of
Uttaranchal. Hardwar means
‘God’s door’, the
gateway to the Gods.
